Several Australian and international beauty and grooming start-ups are set to be on show at Naturally Good, including both newcomers and staple brands. Ahead of Naturally Good 2019, we rounded up some of the not-to-be-missed beauty and grooming start-ups at this year’s show.
James St Organics
Founded on the Sunshine Coast in 2014, James St Organics is a small Noosaville-based business producing organic natural skincare.
The James St Organics range contains skin and body products for the whole family, including cleansers, scrubs, serums, masks, oils, creams and body washes. There are also dedicated product lines for men and babies that use gentle botanical ingredients.
James St Organics uses organic ingredients where possible and avoids harsh chemicals and preservatives. The products are made in Australia and are vegan and cruelty-free.
Skinmade focuses on creating products that not only incorporate local ingredients and essential oils, but that are housed in environmentally conscious packaging. Its containers are reusable or recyclable, and the company as a whole aims to minimise waste.
Skinmade products are made in Australia and are free from artificial fragrances and colours, GMO ingredients, harsh chemicals, parabens, fillers and sulphates. They are also cruelty-free.
The Queensland-based brand offers skin, body and haircare ranges designed for men, women, children and babies. The product line-up includes cleansers, oils, balms, creams, deodorants, shampoo bars, and more.
Amperna’s skincare line harnesses the power of active probiotics to soothe various skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema and dermatitis.
Its products use a probiotic complex designed to support the skin’s barrier, which can protect from free radicals, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system. The range includes an Ultra Gentle Soothing Cleanser, a Lightweight Soothing+ Emulsion to moisturise and protect skin, a 10 per cent Pro+ Resurfacing Lotion containing 10 per cent glycolic acid, a Pro+ Vitamin C Hyaluronic Serum, and a Probiotic+ DS Soothing Serum formulated to calm redness.
Melbourne-based start-up Sonia Orts creates perfumes intended to offer organic alternatives to mainstream fragrances.
The perfume range is made with pure essential oils over synthetic ingredients and contains seven fragrance blends, as well as a pillow mist and hair mist. Sonia Orts also makes face products that incorporate essential oils and native ingredients, including a mask, cleanser, cream and serum.
Sonia Orts products are made in small batches and contain 80 to 100 per cent organic ingredients. They are free from preservatives, chemicals and synthetics, and are cruelty-free.
Shave With Valor
Designed for men looking for natural, organic grooming products, the Shave With Valor range offers a shaving and personal care range made without synthetic ingredients.
The collection includes shaving soaps, beard balms, shave serums, face balms, a deodorant and more. The products are made with pure essential oils and whole organic oils including cold-pressed olive, coconut, avocado, hemp and argan oils, as well as shea butter and cocoa butter.
Based in Mullumbimby, New South Wales, Shave With Valor products contain 97 per cent organic ingredients and are free from synthetic fragrances, preservatives, parabens and sulphates.
WILL is a skin and body range designed for active lifestyles, using essential oils that claim to energise and refresh.
The extensive range includes body and face oils, toners, facial sprays, body washes, hand and body lotions, deodorants, perfume oils, pure essential oils and more. In line with the brand’s intended demographic, the product line-up also includes equipment and yoga mat sprays. There are also products specifically targeted towards men, including a beard oil and aftershave.
The products are formulated and made in Toronto. They contain 100 per cent pure grade essential oils and are cruelty-free.
Latvian company MÁDARA offers an extensive collection of premium skin and personal care products.
The skincare range contains cleansers, toners, creams, serums and more designed to address specific concerns, including dry skin, ageing and oily skin. The personal care range includes shampoo and conditioner, deodorant and soaps. Among other botanical ingredients, MÁDARA products use birch water, which is harvested in northern Europe and claims to have anti-ageing benefits.
MÁDARA products are vegan and cruelty-free.
